A well tried and tested marigold producing vigorous plants with compact foliage that does not compete with the masses of very large, bright orange flowers. Blooms are long lasting and ideal for cutting. Flowers June-September. Height 50cm (20"). HHA - Half-hardy annual.

Marigolds are easy to grow and will flower right through the summer. Try growing with a colour 'foil' like blue ageratum or silver cineraria.

Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 15-20°C (60-68°F) using a good quality, moist compost. Cover the seeds with 6mm (¼") sieved compost. Germination 5-14 days. Transplant seedlings spaced out 5cm (2") apart in trays and grow on in good light. Acclimatise plants gradually before planting out 30cm (12") apart in an open sunny position. Alternatively sow direct outside April/May into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil.
