This morning Anita from Homeland Ballaghaderreen made a return visit to St Coleman National School Derrinabroc to judge the sunflowers competition. The standard was very high. With the winning sunflower coming in at a hight of 85cm!

1st place - 85cm Kaylem Cross 1st Class

2nd place - 82cm Rian Dooney 6th Class, accepted by his sister Amelia

Best efforts when to second class student Aidan O'Connor who won €10  Homeland voucher.

3rd place - 80cm - Laoise Casey

3rd Tallest sunflower at 80cm - she is in junior infants and won a €20 Homeland voucher.

The children fed their sunflowers alternatively every second week with Homeland Super Grow and water that had banana skin which is a fantastic natural fertilizer!
